How It Works
Due to atmospheric influences the signals of the satellites can be disturbed and do not attain the accuracy required. So they have to be corrected. A precise navigation can only be ensured by the supply of correction data. These corrections are calculated in our computing centre. This is done in seconds and in real time so that an accuracy of approximately 2 centimetres can be achieved. The navigation system (GPS) installed on the tractor is fed with the correction data calculated by us and transferred via mobile phone to the machine. Thus, track guidance can be achieved with centimetre level thanks to FarmRTK in the following three short steps:
- You dialin via GSM (mobile phone) or GPRS (Internet) into our FarmRTK correction data service and send us the rough position of your tractor. The accuracy at this moment is approximately 5 to 20 meters.
- In the computing centre the data is evaluated and the correction data is calculated. They are then transmitted via GSM or GPRS to your tractor. The whole process only takes a few seconds. The accuracy now obtained is 2 cm in real time hence enabling positioning and guidance with a centimetre accuracy.
- FarmRTK operates with all available satellite systems. At the moment these are GPS, GLONASS and in the future the European GALILEO system as well.
- Due to our reference network which consists of a whole range of individual reference stations the data are available independently of time and location. Moreover, thanks to the networking it is also possible to control the different signal qualities within larger regions.
